The Netherlands is funding Nigerian NGOs, social and cultural entrepreneurs.

If you are a social/cultural entrepreneur or an NGO involved in advocacy/activism and you have an innovative idea but have been hindered by funds then this is an opportunity you should explore.

The Government of The Netherlands has called on Nigerian Civil Society Organisations(CSOs) as well as social entrepreneurs who are primarily focused on small development projects to apply for funding by March 31, 2018.

An introductory statement on the government’s website read thus:

“Whilst engaging, expanding and strengthening good bilateral relations with Nigeria the embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nigeria works to implement Dutch policy goals relating to human rights, social development and culture amongst others. To contribute to these policy goals, the embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has several funding possibilities at its disposal through which it can provide financial support”

The statement elaborated further “if you are an individual or NGO working with one of the human rights priorities of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and you would like to receive support for your human rights activities/project, please submit a short concept note/’two-pager’ to the embassy by sending an e-mail to abj@minbuza.nl, with the subject [Human Rights Fund application]” with a March 31 2018 deadline.”

There is also available funding for other ventures categorized into Food and agriculture, Security, Legal order, Water management, Sexual/reproductive health and rights (working towards healthy and wanted pregnancies, safe childbirth and free choice of partner).

You can submit a short concept note/’two-pager’ to the embassy by sending an e-mail to abj@minbuza.nl with the subject [Small development projects].

The deadline for submitting proposals for the Official Development Assistance ODA Fund is 31 March 2018.

Further details can be found on their website.

Good luck and thank me later.
