In The Netherlands, You Get Much More Than A Degree.

Many do not know how beautiful The Netherlands is, I know much has been written about the Dutch capital city of Amsterdam with its fabulous red light district and their cycling culture, but there is so much more to that wonderful country and I can tell you that it is better experienced than heard. Now, why study in the lovely little kingdom? At an average of about €8,000 per annum, tuition for non-EU students is much lower than about €15000 which is the average in the United Kingdom. What’s more, some of the courses are taught in English. In addition, you get to study in a harmonious environment and one of the most culturally diverse countries in Europe. Additionally, the cost of living in the Netherlands is comparatively lower than in other western nations of the same standard. On average, a student will need between €800 and €1,000 per month. To fund this, you can combine part-time jobs and study finance. You can also enjoy discounted rates on many public amenities and sometimes there is free public transportation for students either during the week or at weekends. So you see, you get much more than a degree when you study in The Netherlands. You can explore further here or send a mail to admin@cmonionline.com with NETHERLANDS STUDY as the subject and we will be glad to assist you with the requisite resources. Now here is a bonus FACT: Norwegian, Swedish & Dutch are among the easiest languages for English speakers to learn. Many Universities in EU countries have free/affordable tuition but many Nigerian students don’t know this. You can learn any of these languages online and with a recent ruling by the EU Court of Justice that the European Commission cannot restrict the choice of a second language to English, German, or French in its recruitment process your chances of landing a job are even greater if you are proficient in any other European language.

The Netherlands is funding Nigerian NGOs, social and cultural entrepreneurs.

If you are a social/cultural entrepreneur or an NGO involved in advocacy/activism and you have an innovative idea but have been hindered by funds then this is an opportunity you should explore. The Government of The Netherlands has called on Nigerian Civil Society Organisations(CSOs) as well as social entrepreneurs who are primarily focused on small development projects to apply for funding by March 31, 2018. An introductory statement on the government’s website read thus: “Whilst engaging, expanding and strengthening good bilateral relations with Nigeria the embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nigeria works to implement Dutch policy goals relating to human rights, social development and culture amongst others. To contribute to these policy goals, the embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has several funding possibilities at its disposal through which it can provide financial support” The statement elaborated further “if you are an individual or NGO working with one of the human rights priorities of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and you would like to receive support for your human rights activities/project, please submit a short concept note/’two-pager’ to the embassy by sending an e-mail to abj@minbuza.nl, with the subject [Human Rights Fund application]” with a March 31 2018 deadline.” There is also available funding for other ventures categorized into Food and agriculture, Security, Legal order, Water management, Sexual/reproductive health and rights (working towards healthy and wanted pregnancies, safe childbirth and free choice of partner). You can submit a short concept note/’two-pager’ to the embassy by sending an e-mail to abj@minbuza.nl with the subject [Small development projects]. The deadline for submitting proposals for the Official Development Assistance ODA Fund is 31 March 2018. Further details can be found on their website. Good luck and thank me later.
