Really, let’s give it some serious thought. I know that individual ability, experience and record transcend gender as factors that we often put into consideration in determining a great leader, but I equally know that women are naturally blessed with characteristics that make them potentially better leaders than men. You don’t think so? Ok, consider these few facts. One of the key aspects of leadership is the ability to help your team build their skills and strengths. Women are wired to nurture. While men mostly run the streets, they develop the domestic front and even when they find themselves in a position where they also have to hustle they manage to combine that with nurturing the family because they are great at multitasking. Women are emphatic, empathetic and usually lead by example. These traits and many others make them better leaders. We have seen it manifest in the current pandemic with nations led by women handling the crisis much better. Yes, it was so evident that it earned a prime time report on CNN. And that brings me to my message today. My dear good people, I am proud to report that our respectable and delectable amazon, Winnie Oyigah has boosted the competition with a generous donation of N50,000. Winne has been very encouraging ever since this competition commenced. And as a judge in week 3, she took her time to assess the essays, provided detailed and constructive feedback and also awarded a cash price of N5,000 to a skilful young lad who enthralled us with some evocative prose writing in his essay.
