Former Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Tomas Rosicky has retired from football at the age of 37.
The former Czech Republic international announced his retirement on Wednesday in Prague.
“After careful consideration, I have realised I am no longer able to fully prepare my body for what the professional football requires,” he told a press conference.
Rosicky had returned to boyhood club Sparta Prague in 2016 following 10 years and more than 240 games with Arsenal in the Premier League.
Although making 105 appearances for the national side, the latter part of his career was plagued by injury.
He joined Arsenal from Dortmund where he spent five years, winning the Bundesliga title in 2002
