On This Day: 1982, Nollywood legend Osita Iheme was born. He is from Mbaitoli, Imo State, Nigeria. Osita had his primary and secondary school education in Abia State, with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Lagos State University. Osita is a Nigerian actor widely known for playing the role of Pawpaw in the film Aki na Ukwa alongside Chinedu Ikedieze. In this role, Osita played a mischievous child.
In 2007, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the African Movie Academy Awards. He is considered to be one of Nigeria’s most famous actors. Osita Iheme was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by President Goodluck Jonathan.
He is the New Generation Ambassador for Rotary International District 9110 and the author of the book INSPIRED 101. Osita has starred in over a hundred movies and he is one of the most popular faces in Nollywood.
